Cancer Survivors Put Best Foot Forward, Model Latest Fashions
Women in Union County learned about proper breast health and were updated about advancements in breast cancer treatments at a recent Breast Cancer Awareness Month Luncheon in Union. Trinitas Comprehensive Cancer Center and Trinitas Regional Medical Center hosted the luncheon, which was attended by over 150 women, showcasing the latest in medical treatments in breast cancer as well as highlighting the importance of early detection in the fight against breast cancer. Dr. James Frost, of Advanced Surgical Associates, opened the event with a talk on breast health and new surgical advances in breast surgery. He was followed by Dr. Labib Riachi, of the Center for Advanced Pelvic Surgery, who further discussed breast health and the need for early detection. The last speaker was Dr. Lisa Henson, Chair of Radiation Oncology at the Trinitas Comprehensive Cancer Center. On a lighter side, Bobbi Brown Cosmetics demonstrated essential make-up tips that every woman needs to know, followed by a fashion show by Lord & Taylor of Westfield, where breast cancer survivor models captured the feeling of the season that conveying the important messages of preventive health care and optimism, while surviving cancer, never go out of style.
