Vincent E. Salerno, M.D., is a medical oncologist at Trinitas Comprehensive
Cancer Center (TCCC) in Elizabeth, N.J. He previously was in private
practice as a partner in Hematology and Oncology of New Jersey, now a
satellite office of TCCC in Union, N.J. Dr. Salerno is board-certified in
medical oncology, hematology and internal medicine.
Dr. Salerno, together with Dr. Fred Steinbaum, associate medical director of
the new cancer center, will help expand services to residents of Union
County. Through the new satellite office, patients will have access to the
many advanced treatments and support services available at the new cancer
center.
A native of New York City, Dr. Salerno did his fellowship in
hematology-oncology at Saint Vincent's Hospital in New York, N.Y. He
completed residencies in internal medicine at the Lutheran Medical Center in
Brooklyn, N.Y.
Dr. Salerno is a graduate of the University of Padua School of Medicine and
the University of Padua School of Biological Sciences in Padua, Italy. He
did his undergraduate work at the State University of New York, Stony Brook,
N.Y.
A member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology, the American Society
of Hematology and the American College of Physicians, Dr. Salerno has also
conducted research in cancer and infectious disease. He has taught at the
Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, University of Medicine and Dentistry of
New Jersey, New Brunswick, N.J., and New York Medical College in Valhalla,
N.Y.
