Breast Cancer Clinical Trial for ER+ Women
Trinitas Comprehensive Cancer Center is currently participating in a clinical study to determine if the combined treatment of an investigational drug with an additional therapy is effective in treating postmenopausal women with advanced breast cancer in cases where the cancer has progressed despite treatment with Nonsteroidal Armoatase Inhibitors (NSAI).
"This Phase 3 trial is another important step in our ongoing pursuit to find the most effective treatment options for our patients," expressed Dr. Barry Levinson, Medical Director at Trinitas Comprehensive Cancer Center. This 24-week trial with visits every six weeks until trial completion will study if everolimus with the hormone therapy exemestane is effective at controlling breast cancer that has recurred or spread after treatment with other hormone therapies. Further eligibility criteria include ER+ breast cancer that cannot be removed surgically.
